DESCRIPTION / FEATURES

Alundra
Game Description:
Between the worlds of light and dark lies the world of dreams. A world where the rule of reason loosens its grip. A place where an insidious evil is stealing minds and blackening the hearts of those from the world of light. Alundra is a unique hero if for nothing else than for the fact that he can enter other peoples? Dreams in order to exterminate the evil residing within their nightmares.

Following the strange appearance of an old man in Alundra's dream, he is compelled to go to a village named Inoa. There he finds many villagers dying because of their nightmares. Alundra, begged by the villagers, sets off on an adventure to seek the true origin of these strange incidents.

Grab a weapon and become the dreamwalker Alundra, as he struggles to purge the evil from an ancient world before it falls to ash. Explore dungeons, find weapons, solve challenging puzzles and kick some serious monster butt as you weave between tense reality and nightmarish dreams to save the hapless masses. With a wide cast of characters and scores of challenging puzzles, Alundra will rob you of precious sleep until you finish.

CODES / HINTS / TIPS

Alundra

Hints and Tips:
To get started in the first town:
To get into your first dream, you first have to retrieve the book of Elna from Tarn’s manor. Once Jess leaves the room at the beginning of the game, go to Wendell’s house in the middle-left of the village. Talk to everyone there then proceed to Septimus’ house in the upper left of the village. He’ll tell you about going to Tarn’s manor. You can find Tarn’s manor by heading out the north exit of the village, then heading right until you hit the river, then going south 1 screen and heading left. Get the book of Elna from the Manor and return to Septimus and Wendell.

The coal mine engines
The engines in the coal mine need to be started using the levers nearby. Be sure to watch the dream of the miners for the combination to the first engine! On the final engine, you need to kick start it after using the correct lever combination by jumping on the engine.

The 5 Saints of the Crypt
To pass the 5 saints, you have to address them in order from most significant to least, then talk to the head saint in the NE room. Here’s the correct order First address Saint White, then Blue, then Red, then Green, and finally Brown. Once all 5 are lit, go to the room with the single saint in the NW corner of the crypt and a passage will open by the 5 saints.

Repeating rooms in the Crypt
Pay attention to the sign that talks about one step forward, two steps back, then try again. It means from the room with the lamps, move FORWARD (to the right) 1 room, then kill the monsters you find, and go BACK (to the left) to the room with the lamps. Light the lamps again, and go BACK (to the left) again. Kill the monsters there, and go FORWARD (to the right) again. You’ll be in a new area.

Entering the Despair Desert
Head to the Southeast corner of the map by the Cliffs of Madness to enter the Desert. Jump up the cliffs to a cave that leads to the desert. Once you get the sand cape in the desert, you can use the low gates on the sides of the desert.

Lost in the Despair Desert?
After the tornados lift you in the desert, follow the direction of the wind to find your way to the Desert Shrine.

The high switch in the Despair Shrine
In the room of the despair shrine with the single bee and the barrel that drops down, you have to kill the bee to get the barrel, then throw the barrel on the pedestal just to the left of the one with the switch, but with the barrel hanging off the right edge of the pedestal. Then, jump on each pedestal to get to that one. Note that some of them require you to have your feet almost completely off the edge of the pedestal to make the jump. Jump up the barrel and onto the switch.

Sun, Moon, Star, Rain puzzle in Desert Shrine.
Pay attention to the sign. The sun is looking at its reflection in the water. This would mean the Sun is ABOVE the water. So, the first icon to put on the switch in the middle of the room is the Raindrop, then stack the Sun on top. The sign then says the sun gazes up at the moon and start. So STACK the Moon on the Sun, then the Stars on the moon. If you did it right, the door should open!

How do I Whip the Reptile Boss?
The big trick here is NOT to let him heal. When he stops and you hear the "healing sound", he's restoring lost hit points. Use this opportunity to unleash a charge attack on him (he'll be defenseless at this point). Throw bombs to kill lots of reptile henchmen at once and keep them at bay while you look for the change to let a charge attack fly (charge attacks are explained in the manual!). Do NOT try to kill him by using regular sword swings that aren't charged up. This will take FOREVER and most likely get you killed.

Finally, be sure to jump when he does the stomp that freezes everyone. If you're in the air when he lands his feet, you WON'T be frozen, but all the other reptiles WILL. Good luck!

Ice House Puzzle #1
The puzzles involving the ice pedestals you move around in various locations and dreams are proving to be the most maddening for some users. Some DO require a very fresh mind to figure out, so if you're struggling, sleep on it. Otherwise, here's the solution to puzzle #1 (more to follow). Just push the pedestals like the yellow arrows indicate.

Nirude's Lair Maddening Sign
There's a sign in this spiked room of Nirude's lair that SEEMS to be referring to the switches in the same room. ACTUALLY, it's referring to the switches in a room nearby that you may have missed. Go back to the room with a row of pillars. Push the pillars near the middle of the room into the hole in the center of the room. Drop down the hole you just made in the pillars and you'll end up on a ledge below you couldn't get to before. Push the statue out of the way, and enter the room. Apply the knowledge from the sign, and you're on your way!

Finding the 50th gilded falcon:
The 50th gilded falcon is located in the well just outside Lurvys Smith's Shack. A fire wand is needed to get to it.

Finding the most powerful sword:
Get the power glove from Jess. Intentionally die and use the quick restart more than sixteen times. Then, go to the statue of King Snow and use the glove to lift the large rock. Then, walk to the statue and the screen should darken. King Snow will give your character the super legendary sword.

Get Jess' Armor Fixed for Free:
After you get Jess' broken armor, you can take it to Lurvy and get it fixed, but for a large sum of money. So instead climb the cliffs behind his house until you are the highest you can go on the right side. From there, jump down a few cliffs to the treasure chest on the cliff directly behind Lurvy's house. And from that cliff jump to his roof and then on top of his chimney, you will fall into Lurvy's house. You catch Lurvy doing something and he says that he'll fix anything of yours for free, if you don't tell anyone about his secret. So just give him the broken armor and walk out with a new shiny piece of armor.

Get the Legendary Sword:
To get the Legend Sword (most powerful weapon in the game) you must have the "POWER GLOVE" given to you by Jess. Then you need to die and use the "QUICK RESTART" feature over 16 times (this can be done at any time in the game even before you get the power glove.) After doing all of that head for the statue of KING SNOW which is east of INOA VILLAGE and use the power glove to lift the large rock blocking your way to the staue. Walk up to the statue and the screen darkens, if you have done all of the above correctly King Snow will pity you and give you the Legend Sword. This Sword should be your weapon of choice, although it cannot perform a charge attack it is still the strongest weapon in the entire game.

Get the Ultimate Sword:
Get the power glove of jess then die more than 16 times on purpose then go to the king snow statue lift the huge rock in front of it. Then go up to the statue and talk to it and he gives you the sword. This sword cannot be replaced because it is the most power full weapon.

GraveYard:
When you enter the grave yard, and you do the ghost thing, the way correct way to talk to them is to talk to #3,2,4,1,and 5....that is the correct way to talk to them

Listen to the Music:
This will allow u to listen to the music of Alundra. After completing a number of your quests go back to the Inoa Mine there is a house by the stream,if u go inside and go upstairs you will meet Rohei. This great composer will let you listen to some of his music which is in fact the music from the game.

Playing Tips:
When fighting Melzas himself, pay attention to where he pops up last. The last clone to come from the ground is the creature Melzas. Just wait in the middle of the screen and pick him off.

When fighting the final brain thing, just run up to the brain and keep doing jump attacks.

The Silver Armor:
After the town has been burnt to the ground go to the item shop in Inoa and try to buy the armor. She will finally give you the armor.
