A BIT ABOUT US

 ABOUT THIS WEBSITE

Hello World!
Welcome to my brand new better late than never PSX website. 09/28/02

So after searching every nook and cranny on the net & PSX game mags for lists, covers, and any information I could find , then adding it all together and filtering it for NTSC U/C games only, I've cataloged over 1218 PSX games.

I know that there are few that I don't have here, but I could never find proof that they ever existed, except for a vague mention of them here and there. They might be "Phantom Games". Some that the developers and publishers would like for us to forget.

For historical purposes I would at least like to have a record of them listed here with a short description and the release date.

The games on this site have been checked multiple times. There may be a few PAL games that somehow snuck their way in disguised as a NTSC U/C game but probably not more than a few. I think I know which ones. I'll check them again as soon as I can.

The "New Generation" of consoles are well on their way to replacing the PSX and they do have great features, including graphics... but with the millions PSXs that were sold I think they'll be around a bit longer.

( I think personally that "The Rumors Of The PS1/PSX's Demise Are Greatly Exaggerated." (I hope).)
If your a PSX game collector or have fond memories of certain games. This is for you. Enjoy!

Yours Truly,
Martin

 HOW WE GOT HERE

In the begining..

I started out not knowing anything about the internet, webTv, HTML or PCs and storing all my files on the web. So I spent literally thousands of hours of learning, searching, trial and error, dealing with lost files, going from webTv to a PC, PC-Crashs, erased hard drives, Network Solutions (renamed or bankrupt email servers, then trying to change my contact email address). It got to be more of a mental struggle to finish it after Sony came out with PS2 and then the other "New Generation" of consoles came into the market.

I have a Macromedia Coldfusion Version of this website with an MS Excess Database, but I'm not currently able to pay what it takes to put over 500+ megs on a Macromedia Coldfusion Compatible Server. ( Although I like Coldfusion, it's very expensive and the monthly webhosting is also.( Maybe later ) Converting thousands dynamic pages into static pages was bit of a trial of my patience.

But, I was more than determined to finish it because of all the time I spent working on it. I gave up on trying to make it WebTv compatible.. oh well. As I got near to the end it became more enjoyable, and as I look back, I did learn a lot and it wasn't all that much of a pain. Maybe just a trial of endurance and patience.

So.. here it is, years later and almost the year 2003. Wow, where did the time go "smile". I hope there are many devoted PSX users out there that have still held on to their PS1/PSX game consoles and games. Please Enjoy it and use it often. Best Viewed at 800 x 600 resolution. Thank you!

Best Wishes,
